Mitchell’s third stage win… with 5 points

Friday, July 22nd, 2005

Another day like yesterday, very few points all around, and the lowest scores in the tour so far across the board in the TdF online game. Only around 10% of teams managed to score points. It’s even closer between Paul Evans and Francis Lee, and Joost Dantuma has scraped a point back…

Mitchell storms to second stage win

Thursday, July 21st, 2005

I think I said it all yesterday : to sum up, the Fella’s tour is on hold until the individual time trials on Saturday. Nevertheless it wasn’t as dead as yesterday as everyone except Francis Lee scored points today. This evens out the field into two identically spaced groups : 8 points separate me from […]

White takes lucky points to take stage and the lead

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

It seems things are taking a turn in my favour, so Joost Dantuma could have his work cut out from now on. Allan Davis, something of a a wildcard selection in my team, 10th in my lineup came in 10th to give me the stage with just 8 points (lucky extra bonus points in there […]

Keir Mitchell shocks the world with his Chopper, wins stage

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

Incredible but true, Keir Mitchell has hit back at critics by showing the world that he can indeed ride. As others on the Fella’s tour failed to even get out of bed, Keir got up to call a blonde bird who stole Paul Evans’ Raleigh Chopper (see attached publicity photo) and did the business. Rumours […]

Interesting bit of analysis on the game and the optimum team so far available here

http://staff.science.uva.nl/~erikt/tdf/20050718.html
I wish I had the time to do a bit of calculation along the same lines, if anyone else feels up to it (for now or at the end of the game) then go for it.

Evans with a fine stage win on hardest day of tour

Sunday, July 17th, 2005

Congratulations to Paul Evans, who takes his first stage win since back when the riders hadn’t been up any steep hills and finished over the border in Germany on July 9th. He’s now back in Francis Lee’s slipstream with less than 10 points separating them, but there’s still a lot of work to do.

Strong ride from Evans and Lee, Dantuma still leading

Saturday, July 16th, 2005

The Fella’s tour started the Pyrénees with relish, with everyone looking like making points (even Keir Mitchell who had Da Cruz and Moos in the initial breakaway) from the off. With five top ten riders apiece in their lineups, Paul Evans and Francis Lee shone and got closer to the race leader by ten and […]

Correction : Re: Joost Dantuma takes second stage win and pulls into the lead

Saturday, July 16th, 2005

Official results in this morning. I miscalculated Franco’s score : he made 19 not 17 as he has Hushovd hiding at 14th in his team which I somehow failed to spot yesterday.
303(+42) Joost Dantuma (UK)
294(+30) Simon White (France)
240(+19) Francis Lee (France)
232(+25) Paul Evans (France)
52 (+0) Keir Mitchell (UK)
