New Workspace

Yasmina spent all today rearranging the stuff in the office at home. Interior decoration is a passion and an art, but it’s also a lot of hard work :). The simple idea of dropping the shelf down almost to the same level as the desk magically creates a nice huge L shaped desk. Stuff on the shelves has been re-arranged and a little bit of light deco added. Now it’s much nicer sitting surfing and working.

Maybe we should move the laptop to the right so that the two of us can be online at the same time in the same room. Or perhaps not. The laptop in the mezzanine has its advantages, including it being home to my vinyl collection.

  1. You really did get a lovely effect here, congratulations on the idea to drop the shelf so far. However, I don’t think you really want to put both your laptops side by side unless you avidly game together in the online sort of sense. I’ve found that it’s nigh impossible to work effectively in anything creative if you don’t have your own space. Being close to your vinyl collection definitely counts as your own creative space in this regard. In addition, it’s too easy to get on each other’s nerves when you’re trying to work and have totally different styles of doing so.

    Hello Donald,

I do agree with you on the workspace issues. Working together is only good when there is an element of collaboration, and what I like about the new space most is that you can do paperwork on the right hand side, and computer work on the left. Great when you’ve got bills to sort through and you don’t need to move the keyboard to do it.
